London Train the Trainer: Cultivating creativity. Inclusive art-based workshops inspired by community gardens

This Train the Trainer workshop is aimed at community garden facilitators who want to develop skills in devising art-based workshops for all levels and needs, using your garden as the inspiration and resource. This learning can be applied to all workshop facilitation and is delivered by Core Landscapes community gardener Alisa Graham-Brown, and Core Arts professional artist Helen Bridges. 

Where: Core Arts Community Garden behind St Barnabas Church, Access from Homerton High Street, E9 6DL

When: Monday 28 April 2025 10am - 3.45pm (please arrive from 9.30 for a 10am start)

Cost: The event is £20 including lunch. We do not exclude on the basis of cost. Please contact london@farmgarden.org.uk if needed.

This training will support you to:
Improve the access to and inclusivity of your workshops
Learn observation skills for creativity and wellbeing
Draw inspiration from the natural world
Develop techniques for art workshops in a community setting

About the Trainers

Alisa Graham Brown
Core Landscapes Community Gardener

Ali is a biodiversity-driven Community Gardener and educator, and Biodiversity lead for Core Landscapes. Together with students and community volunteers Ali works to make nature accessible to everyone, by collectively stewarding our community green space and creating a nurturing environment for mental respite. Outside of Core, Ali works as an urban ecologist, managing habitat and monitoring the health of key taxonomic groups with a focus on plants and river restoration. They are passionate about supporting the development 
of a robust citizen science movement in urban spaces. www.core-landscapes.co.uk 
 

Helen Bridges
Artist and Core Arts Tutor

Helen is a London based screen printer who takes inspiration from the everyday, she celebrates specific areas with drawings, photographs and collages and beautifully considered prints building up layers of colour. Helen has worked on projects for public art spaces, hospitals, boutique shops, and hotels. Having contributed to an art standardisation strategy rolled out across 20 healthcare facilities and with over 10 years of experience in this field, she has developed a unique approach that blends artistic expression with the therapeutic benefits of art. Her work is designed to enhance healing environments, bringing calm, inspiration, and a sense of connection to patients, staff, and visitors alike.
