Gardens of Sanctuary is an initiative to inspire, support and promote the use of community growing spaces as places of welcome for people seeking sanctuary in the UK.
Date: Wednesday 31st March 2021
Time: 11.00am-12.00pm
Location: Online webinar
Social Farms & Gardens and City of Sanctuary are leading this session which is suitable for community growing spaces who want to provide a more welcoming experience for people in the UK asylum system, and organisations working with refugees and asylum seekers who would like to get involved in gardening, farming and/or growing activities.
The session will provide background information about the UK's asylum process and how this can impact those living in the system, as well as the vital and unique opportunities to find community, improve mental and physical health and to learn and share skills offered by community growing spaces.
We will also take you briefly through the process to become an accredited Garden of Sanctuary.
