Job title: Assistant Manager - Community Gardening

We are looking for someone with exceptional communication skills to promote our Growing Together programme with partners, colleagues and residents throughout North Somerset.
Growing Together provides our community members with outdoor engagement opportunities that promote physical and mental wellbeing and foster community connectedness.
Working with an established team of gardeners, you will continue to develop and expand the programme of activities across our green spaces, reflecting the aspirations of local communities.
No two days will be the same in this role. One day, you could be working with your team on developing new strategies and implementation plans, and the next, you could be in the community gardens with our freelance horticulture and holistic practitioners, coordinating workshops, plant sales and community and volunteering sessions.
Working closely with nature-based practitioners and colleagues, you will seek to promote access to green spaces for Alliance Homes customers and residents within the community.

About you
We are looking for someone who has experience managing a similar community-based project and possesses a sound knowledge and experience in horticulture.
Experience in project planning. managing budgets, and confident in using social media is essential.
A relevant certification such as RHS Horticulture Level 3 would be advantageous but not essential.
You will know how to lead a team and manage volunteers while coordinating and facilitating workshops and group sessions.
The role will require occasional weekends and evening work to run or support community events.
While the role is primarily based in Weston-Super-Mare, you must have access to your own transport and be able to drive within the areas that alliance Homes operates.
You will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
