Amongst the networking and general celebrations, you will have a chance to walk around the beautiful gardens at St Peter’s and see how they have developed over the years. There will be an inspirational guest speaker, Emma Williams founder of Wenvoe Flower Farm and all-round horticulture/garden/community growing champion and expert, who will talk about her experiences and current projects. After being asked to speak Emma said:

‘I'm really excited to share my story, and about the power of community growing and all the benefits it brings. ‘It [community growing] empowered me, fed me and my family and gave me so many opportunities. I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing without it.’

There will be the opportunity to take part in some great sustainable workshops. Choose from two workshop themed around preserving and fermenting your lovely produce:

Fermentation Fixation: why not bring along a jam jar and have a go at making your own Sauerkraut with Laure from Absorb 'feed your health’. Absorb is an independent small batch producer of Sauerkraut and water kefir, but also provides support on maintaining a healthy gut, learning and running one to one sessions on naturopathic nutrition. Edible Cardiff will provide the cabbages!

Preservation Revelation: join Michele Fitzsimmons of Edible Landscaping - to learn about techniques for preserving your harvest. Michele has worked with a range of individuals and communities to help them improve their environment and to create sustainable gardens and landscapes. This workshop will focus on making fruit pastes and learn how to dry and store fruit and veg. Tasters will be provided!

And of course, there will be delicious food! Rumoured to be provided by the inspirational folk at The Secret Garden Café in Bute Park…

So, come along and meet fellow growers and garden enthusiasts and don't miss out on this opportunity to connect with like-minded people to share your skills and knowledge and learn from others.
