We are working with community sites in Powys to support local people to grow, be active, healthy and learn new skills. 

About the project

Tyfu Powys is providing support for existing and new community growing organisations across Powys.  The project finishes on 19 December, so please take advantage of the opportunities below whilst you can.  We will continue to work with groups in Powys after the current Tyfu Powys project funding finishes.  Please join our Facebook group to keep up to date with activities and happenings.

How to get involved

• Join a supportive Powys community with our Facebook group and gatherings
• Find a mentor for 1:1 support to develop your community project, email [email protected] 
• Register for free orchard training with our friends at the Orchard Project, last two sessions on Winter Pruning coming up
• Add your community garden to our Wales map, with free GIS mapping training events
• Apply for community funding, see below
• Visit our events page to see what's coming up
• Catch up on our informal drop-in session for event grant applications here
• We also have funds for 'Development Support', please contact [email protected] for a discussion about how your group might benefit from this

Events

We have held two very successful Gatherings with growing groups and support organisations in November.  If you attended, please share your thoughts on these on our Facebook group page.  Visit our events page to see if there's any future events to join in with.

Apply for community funding

We have funding available for the following: 

1. Eat Well Events - £1,300 per group

2. People and Planet Events - £1,500 per group

3. Local Have a Grow open days - £200 per group

4. NOW CLOSED - Funding for On-Site Infrastructure (capital equipment only) - £2,450 per group to develop your growing site - round two is NOW COMMITTED.  If you would like to be added to a supplementary waiting list, please complete the application form as briefly as possible to register your interest.
