The Growing Spaces are:
- the Walled Garden: part cottage garden, part physic garden, part wildlife area.
- the Applefield Garden: an original SAGE (Sow And Grow Everywhere) garden with raised beds.
- the Adopt-A-Bed scheme: ground-level beds which are used by various third sector, NHSGGC staff and volunteer groups.
- the Summerhouse and beds: a refurbished Victorian summerhouse mainly used for indoor activities and seed sowing, surrounded by raised beds and worked by an established team of Garden Volunteers

The Growing Spaces are part of the Art in the Gart initiative which aims to offer meaningful therapeutic and creative activity on the Gartnavel campus to improve mental health and wellbeing. Activities are open to patients, staff, visitors and the local community.
