The Cecil Sharp House garden is a low maintenance decorative, ecological and edible permaculture garden in the grounds of the Grade II listed building, home to the English Folk Dance and Song Society. Originally laid out when the house was built in 1930, the latest garden design was installed by Permablitz London, who have been overseeing the maintenance and training program since 2014.
The garden is maintained by a paid gardener with volunteers and is used by the local residents, Cecil Sharp House staff and customers with the harvest from the garden providing food for the Cecil Sharp House café, the volunteers and staff.
In 2018 the garden won Camden in Bloom Best Business Garden for the fourth time, and it is a Permaculture LAND project. LAND (Learning And Network Demonstration) projects are a network of permaculture sites set up to show permaculture in practice to visitors and volunteers.
