The NW Ipswich Big Local Trust (NWI BLT) Community Garden is run by NWI BLT Members, supported by volunteers and gardened by users
NWI BLT will use this resource to help the local community develop the allotment plots into a productive site for growing fruit, vegetables, flowers and herbs. The NWI BLT Community Garden will be a place for families to learn how to grow plants, vegetables and to learn about wildlife including insects, bugs and mammals such as hedgehogs.
We aim to attract individuals who for whatever reason do not garden at the moment, but are looking to improve their personal health, helping people who may be at risk of isolation to make new friends and offering an improved quality of life, lower family food budgets, conservation, better eating habits and much more.
NWI BLT will seek partner organisations (who support physical and mental health) who may wish to refer clients. We would like to hold activity events at the Community Garden to raise awareness and attract new volunteers and users.
