Rathfriland and District Regeneration Company has been in existence for over 30 years. During that time we have facilitated a wide range of community events.
Presently we wish to establish a Community Hub in the middle of the town which aims to: engage with the wider community and offer spaces to hold meetings, workshops or training programmes for young and old, facilitate a range of classes where people can participate in for pleasure or to gain qualifications; reduce social isolation by providing a place where people can meet, learn and develop friendships based on common interests
All our projects are based on promoting equality, good relations & inclusion. We hope to bring the whole community together by providing a neutral space where people of all ages and backgrounds can meet and make connections. Statistics show that residents in Rathfriland experience deprivation in terms of lack of access to services due to the rural nature of our location and lack of public transport.
Our Community Hub, located in the town's main square, will offer statutory and voluntary groups a warm and modern facility where services can be brought into the centre of the town. By providing courses and activities in our Hub we believe we will contribute to an increase in self-confidence among those who participate.
