We are a charity running the former council run community centre. We help run community activities and have a growing number of volunteers. One strand of our work is our environmental plan. This works with young and old, and covers tree planting, carbon reduction workshops / support, an open gardens event and helping with planting in vacant areas. One new activity is a new community garden. A local landowner has provided a large site, and we are in the planning / consultation phase. We aim to have a garden supported by local clubs, covering facilities for disabled, young and older visitors and volunteers. It will have a large orchard and vegetable garden, as well as bee and insect friendly areas throughout.
