We are part of the national City of Sanctuary movement - a network of volunteers in over 90 towns and cities in the UK who aim to provide welcome and support to asylum seekers and refugees. Here in Abergavenny we support seven Syrian families, and redugees and asylum seekers from Cardiff and Newport. Key themes include growing food, cooking, walking and nature as a sanctuary. These things create a certain amount of continuity with the families lives in Syria.
