Sapgate Gardens is a community growing project in the heart of Thornton, Bradford, West Yorkshire. The site has been recovered from being overgrown and used for fly tipping to its current state. It now features some beds for growing veg and flowers, compost bins, a den, fruit trees and seating. It has open access all the time. Physical access has been improved this year with the introduction of an improved path. There is an active Facebook page, a membership group and weekly and monthly activity days. We are a registered charity and are well supported by local people .
Once lockdown is over we will build on our links with Community Organisations and the primary school. We want to maintain and promote this beautiful calm space.
