Founded in February 2021, we adopt small plots of land loaned by private businesses, individuals as well as land belonging to youth centres and schools, and transform these often unloved spots. into vegetable gardens. We and our participants meet at least once weekly on one or more plots and share the workload, setting up new beds, improving soil, growing veggies and fruits and making tons of compost. Our group is made up of all ages and walks of life and we welcome involvement of various community groups. We share the produce among the group and with the wider community through our 'help yourself' boxes and donations to the food bank. Our aim is to help people gain access to local pieces of public land in order to grow food or for other environmental enhancements and to help them to learn gardening skills. We're also in the process of starting up a Community Supported Agriculture Market Garden.
