This is an allotment garden which is maintained by volunteers and managed by a committee. The garden has two main areas - a raised decked area with sheltered seating, both for sunny and wet weather, and a larger area made up of raised flower beds, lawn and shrub beds.
The garden's purpose is to attract wildlife and to provide a peaceful and open space to be enjoyed by as many local people as possible, such as older people who have down sized and given up their garden. School children will visit with their teachers and parents and children can picnic in the garden. We plan to develop the garden with native trees and hedging to attract birds both for education and to contribute to the ecology of the area.
