***** Green Care Quality Mark Awarded since Aug 23 *****
We plan to provide a service for people to practice farming, woodland and gardening work, animal care, and learn about nature, sustainability and wildlife. We breed british rare breed animals and currently have volunteer groups in or all ages, work with DWP to provide work placements for those that struggle in other settings, and have young people who are struggling in school placements to learn new skills and those with EHCP's to provide future apprenticeship schemes leading to employment. We currently have 34 acres of grassland which is farmed, 9 acres of woodland, we are working with the local AONB, forestry commission and countryside stewardship programmes. We have an events/secure field for fire, equine livery, farm, doggie day care, and have just obtained planning permission for a farm shop/cafe and training/conference centre and indoor equestrian arena which will be used by a Riding for the disabled group and ponies made available to other groups. Our son has a variety of disabilities and so this project is very dear to us and have seen how much being on the farm has helped him and the others that have/are with us.
