Bede was established in Bermondsey in 1938 and exists to support the local community to flourish. We work with everyone in the local area and have particular services supporting people with learning disabilities to gain new skills, meet new friends, develop their confidence and independence. We also work across Southwark and surrounding areas providing tailored support to survivors of domestic abuse and their families. Amongst our many projects we look after an urban wildlife garden in the middle of the local housing estate in Bermondsey, and have built an allotment on the edge of Southwark Park. Both are looked after by teams from our learning disabilities service.
