The garden aims to serve as a culturally affirming and empowering community space to foster a reconnection to the land by way of gardening, food growing, and herbalism.
Aims
Provide a safe and welcoming green space for the benefit of the local and wider community, bringing people together to build and tend to the garden, while enhancing the health and wellbeing of members and volunteers through the shared endeavour and joy of gardening.
Educate and exchange knowledge about the natural environment, food and herb growing, cultural and ancestral growing methods, and ecologically responsible gardening practices in a dynamic learning environment.
Facilitate educational sessions on food growing, herbal medicine, and holistic health for all ages with an emphasis on the sections of the community with the largest health disparities.
Be an incubator space for the exchange and development of ideas and skills between the members and volunteers, practitioners, facilitators, and other community leaders interested in delivering educational projects that will benefit the garden and community.
