I am in the very early stages of researching if some kind of community venture might a viable option for me. It is a 3 acre smallholding all set up and ready to go but some recent life changes and health issues have made me have a rethink about how to move forward. I cannot run everything I need to without help but I have the skills and experience to be able to supervise, teach and plan. I am researching options so I can stay in this beautiful area, find a 'purpose' again in something I love - and give back to others.
There is a large veg plot, greenhouse, poly tunnel, extensive composting system sheep chickens, 3 year old orchard (45 trees), self built solar system, semi wild spinner, lots of experience about preserving, living sustainably etc, etc. i
I am a medically retired teacher with 27 years of secondary school experience. Five years ago, before medically retiring, I was Deputy Head. I am 58 years old and fit for my age , now I have recovered from a long lingering illness - not life threatening.
