Action for Station Town conducted a full household survey in 2021 and 2024 where we found that a vast majority of our residents wanted to improve our village through litter picking and gardening through planting of flowering bulbs and shrubs. . We commenced in 2022 with 2 x 1000 litre recycled plastic tubs. We’ve now planted over 10,000 spring flowering bulbs, enhanced the entrance to our allotments and are entering the Northumbria in Bloom Competition for the 2nd time. We are planning a ‘planting event’ for children and their families within the next few weeks and our litter picking teams are increasing.
