PK aims to improve the health and wellbeing of beneficiaries with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities including autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Tourette’s, and related differences. We provide over 25 social, learning, educational and sports activities per month to over 500 children/young people. These are delivered in holidays, after and during school hours. Many of our activities take place in the PK Community and Learning Garden and include Bushcraft, Forest school, therapeutic horticulture, Home Ed STEAM, 1:1 tutoring, Warm Community Space, and crafting. The objective is to support mental health, help our marginalised community reach their potential, equipping them with skills and tools to help whilst young and then transitioning into adulthood. We provide an environment that can be tailored to meet the needs of our beneficiaries and where they can feel safe, understood, and accepted for who they are. Spending time outdoors is hugely beneficial and offers a variety of sensory experiences. PK is seen as an inclusive family community by many of our beneficiaries and somewhere they belong. The garden has a cabin offering warm space protected from the weather, as well as herb gardens, sensory trails, musical equipment, and a pond, to name just some of what PK has to offer.
