The Parson's Field was established following an open meeting in the village of Tregynon in November 2021. This followed an agreement from the Church in Wales who own the land, that they would rent it to the Cedewain Mission Area at a peppercorn rent for community use. The village church established a management committee of church members, volunteers, a community councillor and a county councillor and the chairman of the school governors. The project has benefitted from a grant from Local Places for Nature managed by the County Council establishing landscaping, picnic benches, compost bins, a shed and water butts, signage, tools and equipment. A group of volunteers of between 3 and 8 people meet regularly once a week to garden and socialise. There has been close working with the Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust and the school. Several successful community events have been held and donations of plants, time and support from the local community have been received.
