Nestled in Nature (NIN) is a Community Interest Company (CIC) dedicated to fostering human-nature connections through agriculture, animal care, and outdoor therapeutic experiences. Based on a 5-hectare agricultural site, NIN integrates sustainable land use with well-being initiatives, offering hands-on opportunities for individuals to engage in nature-based activities that support mental health, personal development, and social inclusion.

Agriculture & Community Well-being
NIN’s agricultural plans are designed to serve both environmental and therapeutic purposes, creating a sustainable, interactive space where people can reconnect with nature, develop new skills, and experience the psychological benefits of working with the land. Key components include:

Rare Breed Livestock & Smallholding – We are establishing a smallholding with rare breed sheep, goats, and small animals, providing hands-on learning experiences in animal care, ethical farming, and land stewardship. Engaging with animals has been shown to lower stress, build confidence, and encourage responsibility, making it particularly beneficial for vulnerable groups such as individuals recovering from trauma, young people struggling with anxiety, and those with additional needs.

Sustainable Growing & Horticulture – Our gardening and organic food-growing initiatives promote nutritional awareness, environmental responsibility, and self-sufficiency. Participants will learn about regenerative agriculture, soil health, and seasonal food production, with opportunities to take home produce. These activities support mindfulness, resilience, and a sense of accomplishment.

Outdoor Cooking & Community Food Programmes – Using farm-grown produce, we host outdoor cooking workshops that teach practical skills while fostering community connection and social inclusion. These sessions provide accessible, hands-on experiences where participants can engage in meal preparation while learning about food sustainability and well-being.

Nature-Based Therapy & Equine Connection – In addition to agricultural activities, NIN incorporates polyvagal-informed equine therapy and nature immersion programmes. We focus on nervous system regulation, mindfulness, and co-regulation with animals, offering a non-ridden equine connection programme that integrates relational horsemanship with mental health support.

Who We Support & How We Make an Impact
1. People with mental health challenges – Providing a calm, structured environment to engage with animals, gardening, and outdoor activities.
2. Children & young people – Offering nature-based learning, confidence-building, and resilience training.
3. People recovering from trauma – Supporting emotional healing through animal interaction and land-based projects.
4. Socially isolated individuals – Encouraging community participation and meaningful engagement in a safe, supportive setting.
By integrating agriculture, sustainability, and therapy, Nestled in Nature creates a regenerative cycle of growth—both for the land and the people who engage with it.
