Get Growing Scotland is a partnership hub for joined up support in Scotland for all ways of community growing, from gardens and farms to allotments and grow your own activities.
About the project
Get Growing Scotland is a collaboration of organisations that practice, support and advocate for local food growing opportunities. Work is coordinated by GrowGreen Scotland.
Our role
We support the Get Growing Scotland advisory service Help@, through our Community Land Advisory Service Scotland (CLAS).
The Help@ service helps communities to adopt an asset-based approach. Asset based approaches value the capacity, skills and knowledge and connections in individuals and communities. This enables communities to develop, thrive and sustain, evolving with the people they serve.
Expertise from our members and partners brings a peer-to-peer approach, saving projects time and money.
We also advocate for members and community growing by partnering with Get Growing Scotland on responses to Scottish Government policy consultations. This helps to shape and enact policies and measures that can support and deliver sustainable change so community growing can thrive across the country.
Resources
The Growing in the Community Scotland Land Guide provides in depth information for communities and land owners so land can be secured for community led food growing.
